I have only made a couple of brews of Kombucha, so I am definitely a newbie. Each of the bottles I have stored the Kombucha in have formed a Scoby. Is there any way to not have the Scoby formed in the bottle, or is that just the way things work?

Thanks -

george

In order to stop pellicle growth inside sealed bottles, you need to reduce sugar, use more low pH starter, filter, force carbonate, counterpressure bottle, and then refrigerate.

Simple as that.

Just looked at how to force carbonate and I don't have that type of equipment, so I guess that is not an option for me.

Thanks -
