Is Jack Schmidling still making and selling mallmills? Has his website changed? His home page looks the same, but whenever I go to the Ordering Info page, it comes up as a blank page. The Maltmill page comes up as not found.
Have you tried to contact Jack by email to see if he is still in business?I was thinking of replacing mine. Getting another would have been easy to slip in to my motorized setup. I should have pulled the trigger sooner.
Looks like Jack is well and good. He just posted here: http://hbd.org/hbd/archive/1192.html#1192-9
Just kidding. If you go to that link, look up 3 posts for a most interesting one. haha. John Palmer started like the rest of us.
I have a JSP mill. It's a workhorse. I bought it used, and I suspect it will outlive me. Much kudos to the man.
Man that reference to HBD takes me back. There were a lot of people who were influential in the homebrewing community as authors or inventors at that time like George Fix who regularly contributed to HBD. I did an advanced google search and found that my first post to HBD was April 5th, 1993 while in grad school.Looks like Jack is well and good.
