brewed my fourth batch Sunday, English Dark Ale from extract with steeped grains
a buddy brewed a batch as well
mine went fine, his didn't, his was from mail order stuff he'd had around the house for a while
his yeast failed, no action after 2 days
our LHBS is closed Monday and Tuesday so he can't get more yeast till tomorrow
so, my question
I've seen references to saving the yeast after you make a batch
can anyone point me to some instructions on how to do this?
it would have been really nice to have had a few vials in the fridge

ps, I just stole a little starter from mine to inoculate his, hope it works

and its not really as hard as it sounds. just be sanitary, and its pretty straight forward.
i doubted my first attempt (which was recent), so I pulled it from the fridge and pitched a hydrometer sample from a fresh batch of wort...sure enough the next morning I was making a couple ounces of beer :)
