Hi all,
Does anyone sanitize everything the dry hops touch? I sanitized a Styrofoam cup and then added the hops to the cup. Just wondering what other people do?

Thanks!

No, I don't sanitize the items that hops touch. Now here's the important part: Most of my beers do not get infected.

None so far.

I'm not super picky about sanitizing things dry hops touch. I usually sanitize the plastic plate on my scale that I weigh them on, but that's it. Ive seen people go as far as to sanitize their scissors that they cut open the hops packages with, but I think that's unnecessary. Also, Ive never had an infection (yet, haha).

I do however, try to keep to a minimum the unsanitized things that the hops come in contact with

Lets say you buy hops at a LHBS that sells weighed amounts, as opposed to pre-packed ounces...

What is the level of sanitation there?
