I've been working on a recipe for a hoppy but light/crisp rye pale ale based on Westbrook Brewing Co.'s One Claw. This beer is 5.5% abv. and hopped with Amarillo, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin. The recipe (partial mash) I've come up with so far is below. For the grain bill, I wanted about 10% rye and 10% wheat...I'm not sure about the munich/crystal though and if this belongs here. Any thoughts/suggestions/criticisms would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My suggestion would be to up the rye amount if you want that flavor to come through. My rye pale recipe is 31.5% rye malt.

The rye/citra combo really works well IMHO.

Thanks for the reply. I am going for a very subtle rye flavor so I figured I'd start at 10%, but might consider pushing that up higher.

..I'm not sure about the munich/crystal though and if this belongs here

I got an email from one of the Brewers at westbrook and he said they use a about 10% rye, a little white wheat, a little munich and the rest is 2 row. The hops are Nelson and Citra. And the yeast is standard English ale.
