How should i get the beer from the carboy into the test tube for gravity reading? I'm worried about contaminating it.

If the beer is in a carboy it can often be difficult to get a sample with a turkey baster as they are often not skinny enough. I use a turkey baster for my plastic bucket fermenters but I have to use a wine thief for my carboys. Mine is very similar to the large portion of an auto siphon if you have one of those.
