Rigging my fermenting fridge

I just finished my Kolsch, and I tried to lager it for a few weeks. This is my first time attempting this with my ranco temp controller, but no matter how low I set it, the fridge never got below 40. I assume this is because the fridge itself has some form of temp controller...anyone know how to bypass, or change the settings?

Are you sure there are no air leaks?

where is the fridge at? When it is 80's or 90's outside, my fridge moves from about 35 up to 44.

My freezer is in basement ... alwaya around 60 so the ranco is able to keep a 42 deg pretty well...

check the seals around the doors
