I have used it a few times and it held long enough. The biggest problem I saw was that some bags didn't hold well due to lupulin being drawn into the channels.

Ulitimately I found a food saver at a Tuesday Morning store and bought it for the hops.

Still use the Reynolds for other foodstuff tho'.

I use the Reynolds Handi-vac for storing small qty's of hops .5 - ~3.0 oz. I think it works fine but not ideal for long term storage/sealing.

I just got one and used it to split my pound of pellets into 1 oz sizes.

I weighed out oz's and put them into the fold-over sammich bags (non-zippered)
Then put 4-5 oz in a vac-bag and sealed it up. Worked great.

Don't know how long the seal will last in the freezer, it's been 2 weeks and they still have a seal. Loose leafs hops might be problematic.

The good thing about the Reynolds handi-vac bags is that they are reusable if not damaged... offering some cost svaings. I can probably get 2-3 uses (conservatively) before using a new one.
