Does anyone know of a quick and painless way to remove labels off of bottles? Im trying to save money by recycling empties.

Hot water and oxyclean. Soak for several hours.

Takes care of most labels.

Step 1. Grab bottles out of recycling bin.
Step 2. Mix up hot water and oxyclean (chlorine free) in big 20gal container.
Step 3. Dunk bottles so they're all under water.
Step 4. Go to bed
Step 5. Pull out all bottles, now free of labels.
Step 6. Load all bottles into dishwasher without soap.
Step 7. Rinse off all bottles.

For stubborn labels, do the oxyclean thing, but forget about it for a while (weeks, months, whatever). By the time you remember you have bottles waiting, the labels and glue will have been reduced to a thin layer of slime in the bottom of the bucket. No scrubbing required, but forgetfulness is helpful ;)
