Reliable thermometers!

So I broke my trusty mercury thermo, and I was thinking of getting a digital on-the-cheap to replace it.
Something like this

Are these reliable? I know they were made for prodding chickens and jam, but do they provide reasonable readings when in wort?

I have never used it so I cannot say. I dropped my digital one in the wort twice meaning I had to open it up to dry it out and it still worked fine. It was not until I dropped it on the floor that I got a new one and it was a very inexpensive one. Just for the fun of it I checked them both in boiling water and freezing water and they read the same.

Short story here is I guess I have been very lucky buying inexpensive thermometers
