I have seen the sticky thread about MLT sizing, but what do folks think about the relative sizing of all the vessels including fermenter?

HLT has to heat up two different sets of water: strike and sparge at two different moments in time so that reduces the size needes, but if you are doing HERMS, you don't have the luxury of a major temp differential in the HLT during the mash.

The MLT has to hold strike and grain, but not both strike and sparge at the same time.

The boil kettle is holding strike and sparge but not grain. Hopefully has enough head space to avoid boil over.

Hoping to hear opinions on this.

Does the size ratio hold regardless of batch size? I can't see why it should change whether you are doing 5, 10, or 15 gal batches.
