Must've had some active yeast with food left over. Hooked it up to carbonate and it back flowed to the regulator and out the relief.

Is it ruined?

Your regulator can *probably* be disassembled and cleaned. For mine it just took an adjustable wrench and a cautious grip. Very few pieces make up a regulator. If you have questions, post model number and/or pictures.

I learned my lesson though. I installed 1/4" MFL check valves on EVERY gas QD. Wasn't cheap, but definitely worth it.

Thanks a bunch! About to start taking it apart. And yes! Lesson learned, getting check valve tomorrow!
