Mad Monks 2017 Belgian Beer Competition is accepting your entries starting today, January 13th through January 27th. The competition is limited to Traditional Belgian Ales and experimental beers based upon them using the 2015 BJCP guidelines. The brewing competition is registered with the AHA / BJCP.

BJCP Categories: 23,24,25,26, and 21B (Belgian IPA) along with category 30,32, and 33 beers using the previous base styles will be accepted.

Please submit two, unmarked, 12oz bottles of each competition entry. All entries must be registered online at ReggieBeer: http://reggiebeer.com/ReggieEntry.php?CompetitionID=VCWSCK1000226

The entry fee for this competition is $6 per entry, and the deadline for entries to be dropped off and payment made is January 27th, 2017. We prefer that you pay your entry fee using PayPal during the entry process: https://www.paypal.me/MadMonk2017/6

Competition entries can be dropped off at any of the following locations.
•The Abbey, 117 N Woodland Blvd, DeLand, FL 32720. (Check Payments only accepted here*)
•Sanford Homebrew Shop, 115 Magnolia Ave, Sanford, FL 32771
•Daytona Beach Brewing Company, 482 Fentress Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114
•Alternatively, you can ship an entry to: Mad Monks 2017 @ 570 Hayman Ct, Debary Florida 32713
*If you for some reason cannot pay using PayPal, a check made to ‘Volusia County Home Brewers Guild’ can be included with the bottles dropped off only at the Abbey. Please include your check in an envelope marked with your name and “Mad Monk” and leave it with the bartender.

Winners will be announced at the DeLand Craft Beer Festival on February 11th, 2017.

We're also looking for Beer Judges!

The 2017 Mad Monks Mashup is looking for expierenced and BJCP Certified Beer judges for next weekend. Although we're not looking at a huge number of entries, the Belgian theme always draws some extraordinary beers. We'd like to make sure to give them the judging and feedback they deserve. If you have a passion for Belgian Beers, especially if you have some BJCP or Cicerone training, and a free Saturday afternoon on the 28th, please considering joining us for a round of judging or stewarding. We're AHA/BJCP registered, and are following the 2015 guidelines for this contest.
