I know from bread yeast........freeze it and it will litterally last for years, I've had a package in my freezer for over three years and its still good........Believe me, its not worth keeping out......

In order for liquid yeast to be frozen it must be properly prepared or the freezing will rupture the cell walls of the yeast effectivly killing them. I use this method.
