Recommendations for a monster?

Hey all,

I'm three extract brews in and one cider. All have turned out swimmingly! That said, all of my beer/cider has been around 5-6%, and I'm ready to make a panty dropper monster! Anyone have a good recommendation for an easy to drink 8-9%?

possibilities are endless.... Looking for for easy or drinking and high ABV you should go with a Belgian Dubel or Tripel. Good luck on going big.

Use a starter for the yeast pitch!

If you are looking for a 8% beer to drop panties I would say good luck. I did brew a version of "cream of 3 crops" that I bumped up the grain on and added 1 pound of sugar to that came in at 8% and is easy drinking. But if you are looking for panty droping look into "skeeter pee" it does a great job of it. It's not beer but at 11% it does the job very well.

My first "big" beer when I got started was a 9.0% Belgian Tripel. I brewed it for a good friend's birthday party. She, and the rest of the crowd absolutely loved it and the entire batch (save for a few bottles I set aside for myself) disappeared before I knew it.

Belgian yeast is a unique being. It's actually pretty easy to work with for a novice brewer due to the fact that the style often calls for slightly under pitching and warmer fermentation temps.

It was a great beer and a fantastic learning opportunity for me.

When I made this Caramel Cider we nicknamed it the panty-dropper, since it was 8.4% and tasted delicious. It's been a big hit with everyone who had it.
