I wanted WLP515 Antwerp Ale yeast but it's seasonal and I've missed it :(

This is the description :-
Clean, almost lager like Belgian type ale yeast. Good for Belgian type pales ales and amber ales, or with blends to combine with other Belgian type yeast strains. Biscuity, ale like aroma present. Hop flavors and bitterness are accentuated. Slight sulfur will be produced during fermentation, which can give the yeast a lager-like flavor profile

Please can you suggests the closest available yeast?

Thanks. All. Aamcle

Among Belgian strains, WLP550 might be the best substitute, IMO, particularly if fermented at low temps.

Or, if you're feeling adventurous... there's a reason WLP515, and it's famous beer De Koninck, are somewhat "lager like." It's because WLP515 is genetically a lager strain. And WLP940 (Mexican Lager) is genetically a kissin' cousin to WLP515, so that might be worth a shot. It might be interesting to see what WLP940 does at ale fermentation temps.

ETA: I'm assuming you're making something like a Belgian Pale/Amber.

De Konink :)
