I just put my second batch in for primary fermentation. For both batches I have used the 6.5 glass carboy for the primary. Being new to all of this, I am wondering if it is a bad idea to transfer to the plastic bottling bucket after a week of primary, clean the glass and transfer back for secondary fermentation?

Can't have too many fermenters...

Eight full fermenters Beirmunch?!? ... that's two months of brewing for me

No problems at all.

I do it all the time if I want to free up a bucket.

I though it was bad to have air at the top of the secondary because of oxidation. Is this not the case if you use a 6.5 gallon carboy for a secondary fermentation?

I started fermenting on Sunday. The bubbles have slowed considerably in the airlock. Should I do this tomorrow? I am going away for the weekend and might not get to it until mid next week.
