If you open a bottle of home brew, and it has not carbonated yet (no pfft sound when you open), will it still carbonate if you just put a new, sanitized, cap on it and give it more time?

Sure. Opening it won't take either the yeast or sugar out of the bottle. But I would mark it so that it would be the first one I tried after more time has gone by.

How much time from when you bottled it to when you tried it?

It has been about 2 weeks. Turns out I heard the pfft when I opened it, so I just drank it. :) Not quite carbonated enough, but I figure a few more days and I should be good.
