I'm sure it has nothing to do with their insane All Drafts cost $3 days that they do. Yes, I will drink 5 glasses of Gueuze Tilquin that you normally have priced at $15 a pour for $3. I'm sure this won't turn around and bite you in the ass.
They had that here however anything special would have a “not eligible” mark next to it.

Chocolate rain in 16oz cans?

Who will be the first to shotgun one and maybe die?

Also, will this break the $100/4pack ceiling?

$25/can.

Local brewery that is all the rage sent out a message to announce a new release. Sounds promising, a colab with a respected place. Anyway, they also included a paragraph to try and ‘set some realistic expectations’ for the beer. Two thoughts...

1) that’s kind of refreshing. Lots of places tout everything up and routinely release sub par beer.

2) how bad is it if you feel like you have to get ahead of it PR wise?!?

The Who is coming in concert. A friend asked if I wanted to go. I asked the wife and she had no clue who they were. I played a few songs and she thinks she has an elementary school teacher that liked them.

I wonder if I can play them often enough to get her into it.
This oughta do it. Just about one of their songs, but still...

Local place Sand City just announced this.

Lava Cake: 15% Imperial Stout brewed with an explosive amount of chocolate, vanilla, & espresso powder, & with a hint of milk sugar to give it that dessert feel.
$30/ 4pack. 4/ 4pack limit pp

Can you imagine trying to explain to someone unaware of how dumb beer is nowadays that you spent $30 on a 4-pack of cans?

NOPE

God I love CBC/GABF time in CO. It's raining Revolution Straight Jacket cans right now. I may buy every single one.

I saw a massive amount of Revolution cans made it to Grapevine Liquors today (Denver). Also saw a ton of Shorts and Modern Times had just arrived. Also lots of Sip of Sunshine.

Yes I saw those as well out of the corner of my eye (particularly the Amalgamator), but my sights were set on ALL the Straight Jacket.

EDIT: I'm drinking one currently and may scour the city tomorrow. If there is a better barleywine in CO I haven't had it. Forget the perfect 12oz serving size.

Are these 16 oz or 12, cause if they're 16, that's actually not that bad of a price. That would be equivalent to a $10 bomber.

So sad I missed CBC this year, had a blast in Nashville. So many great events all over town. Definitely gonna book 2020 early.

Copied the entire post haven't gone back to look for clarification in the comments/edits since.

Just going to have to roll the dice.

pretty sure they're 16oz cans. so that's $30 for 64oz of 15% imperial stout. which is not a bad deal.
i don't think it's an indicator of how dumb craft beer is right now (which is pretty dumb). It's more indicative of how many breweries are packaging only in can and willing to put normally high priced beer into them, as opposed to bottles. But yes, casual consumers of craft beer will find that insane. Many are still generally biased against cans. Try explaining to a baseball crowd why $14 for a 16oz can of a Hermit Thrush barrel-aged, mixed-ferm sour aged on cherries that is produced out of state is not a ridiculous price.

I do think it's kind of funny that we're debating the idea of a $30/4-pack being ridiculous one page after a $100/4-pack of cans was mentioned. But yeah I think jammery nailed it, a lot of these prices are not at all out of the ordinary from what many beers have gone for, it's just packaging it in cans that's new, and when sold as a pack as opposed to individually it produces a sort of sticker shock, even if the $/oz is the same or even lower.

Thanks for inserting some nerdery into this.
