I'm toasting some MO for a SMaSH brew in a couple weeks to give some color to the brew. First of all, I'm pretty sure it's best to toast grains whole, correct? That's the way I picked them up from the LHBS.

More importantly, is there a typical way to store the grains for the few weeks after toasting them? I'm guessing that keeping them less exposed to air (i.e. ziplock bag) helps, but would vacuum sealing them help or hinder the toasted grain?

TIA.

Vacuum seal would work, let them cool first. And yes, toast the whole grain before crushing. And don't crush till brew day.
