I have beer in kegs right now sitting at about 10-12 psi. I was wondering can I just pour the beer into bottles and expect the carbonation to hold (be good) or will it fade quickly over time. I am needing it for an event the same day that I pour it into bottles so it will be drunk pretty fast. So I will transfer to bottle, cap, chill and then server all in the same day.

I know there are specific devices (bottle fillers) that work for this task but since I am not storing these bottles long term I was just wondering what kind of results to expect.

I will be pouring into 22oz bottles.

Thanks in advance!

Pouring into bottles will likely knock out a lot of the carbonation, and you are likely to have excessive foaming during bottling. Check out this thread for a very simple counter pressure bottle filler. I just jam the tube into a picnic tap for filling.

Brew on :mug:
