is it normal for the airlock to lose water due to the gases being released?

also would it hurt if there was no water in the airlock overnight?

I am sure you may lose some from evaporation...

As far as it being empty overnight, it prolly isn't the best thing in the world, but there is prolly no harm done....

Instead of water use cheap vodka. It will evaporate faster, but if you ever peek into your bucket and get a suck back, its better than week old water.

well thing is its only been 2 days since ive made it and the `S‘ type chamber airlock seems to be running out of water cause of the gas pushing it out. (i guess this is what you call a spill over? its very foamy at times but i didnt sanitize with anything special just regular bleach for 1hr, rinsed it out with hot water a few times. is this normal to keep filling the airlock up like this or is my yeast just going crazy in there and i shouldnt worry?
