is this good practice for fermenting a lager? 50 degrees for a week. then bring it up to 65 for a week (diactyl rest).then drop it down to around 35 for 3weeks. its my first lager and i think this is going to be my plan. i'm using wyeast amer lager 2035. Thanks.

I'd plan on primary fermentation taking up to two weeks, more or less, then a diacetyl rest for 48 hours or so (if you need to do one). Then, I'd rack and think about lagering for 6 weeks, depending on the OG of the beer.
