hi all,

Last night I racked my amber ale into the secondary. With it came a good amount of sediment that has settled out n the bottom of the carboy. There is at least an inch of sediment there. I guess I wasn't careful enough or went too fast.

anyway, will this sediment effect the taste? Should I rack again to another caroy?

Thanks,
WW

Everything is fine, don't do anything. The purpose of a secondary is to clear your beer and it sounds like that is what it's doing. Everything will fall to the bottom and compact after a couple weeks. It will not effect the flavor being in there but racking it unnecessarily might effect it in a negative way.
