I have a mead that I made in mid Feb that is currently racked into a 5 gal glass carboy. It has cleared quite a bit but hasn't completely cleared like so many pics I have seen on this site. How long should I expect to keep this baby in the carboy? I can see through it but I certainly wouldn't be able to read through it. I started with 18# raspberry honey for 5 gal batch. I have noticed each time I rack it, fermentation seems to restart. Is this normal? SG 1.126 lst gravity reading 0.994.

If your final gravity reading really is 0.994 then it isn't fermenting when you rack it, it is just offgassing some of the residual CO2 that is in suspension. As for the clearing, be patient. I like to let mine bulk age 8 - 12 months and clear before even debating wheather or not to bottle yet. Either wait till it clears on its own or hit it with a clearing agent if you just can't wait any longer.
