Assuming it is food grade plastic and high temp rated, it could work. Since these are not stated in the description and the condition (new vs. used) I personally would not pull the trigger. I did get my pump from Tate Corp on ebay. Search Brewing Pump, and you should see their listings. I highly recommend.
