Greetings,

I have a pin lock corney keg without an air release valve. I'd like to know what the best method is for pressurizing my keg so that my American Style IPA (2.1-2.5 vols of C02) is ready in just 2 days. I'm looking for:

1. An initial pressure
2. method to release air space above the beer
3. What to set the pressure to between servings after the beer is already carbonated

Are you sure there isnt a air release valve. Nobody would have ever been able to open the lid without one.
Some have the kind you have to push down, its raised and looks like a thimble.

If that is the case then I would buy a new lid with a release valve because it will be a PITA to keep disconnecting the GL.

You shouldn't have to keep releasing the pressure in the keg so no, it's not a pain. Please see the thread "keg carbonation methods illustrated" which is a sticky in this forum.

I use pin lock kegs and they have valves.
The valve is on the lid, and the lids are interchangable (ball lock and pin lock)
