That offer certainly makes it very enticing.
One thing that bothers me is using (pricey) mini cartridges, while the jury still seems to be out on "refillable" ones...
Over the years a few of our club's members have brought a variety of tapping growlers/mini kegs to meetings and gatherings. What puzzles me is I've rarely seen repeated "showings." Maybe too much hassle, or the cost of the mini carts?
Although much more cumbersome, those small Oxebar kegs (inside a cooler) with picnic taps or a small 1 or 2 tap jockey box are a very nice and flexible solution. They also still need a (small) CO2 tank to be brought along.
I've been bringing a third- to half-filled 5 gallon kegs (inside 5 gallon gott-type coolers) to larger homebrew gatherings the past few years. The headspace is large enough to serve the beer during a 4-6 hour event, no tank required. It's just a bit cumbersome traveling with all that gear.
So these 5 liter (1.3 gallon) mini kegs surely fill a nice spot.
Can someone link to the specific cartridges used that fit these?
Found it. Looks from the ad, they use 16g 3/8-24UNF cartridges.
So 30 cartridges ($50) (
