Hi All,

Doing a stout from a prehopped can (Muntons or Coopers or the like)....

Want it to thicken it up vs kit and kilo....

What do you recommend for maintaining a decent balance?

1) 2 cans, no dextrose or DME
2) 1 can, 2kg DME
3) other combination possible in a hopless / grainless land.

ps... I have 4 kits coming from AHS when the wife visits next Month. oh Shiner Bock ... it has been too long since I last held you.

#2 is the simplest. If you want even more mouthfeel, steeping 250 gm of oatmeal is simple. That gives you the proteins and although the starches won't convert to sugar, they will also improve the stout.

#1 will work, but it will have double the bitterness.

#2 would leave you with a pretty sweet beer. You'd have a lot more sugar but no more bitterness. #1 would be your best bet if you don't want to boil.
