Looks to me like there's plenty more hops grown than last year...was that a fake hop shortage they put us through to get us to pay more for hops???

I know there was supposed to be a shortage and they were concerned about hoarding, but it seems funny to me that Jim Koch became the hero of the day by releasing 100,000 lbs of hops without impacting the Sam Adams brand...

Lots of new acreage, but most of them will not produce anything this year. It's been cold up here! Even my third year hops are hurting. The second year hops haven't even hit the top yet.

It might help this year somewhat, but at least there is hope down the road. Will it be like it was before, I doubt it. Of course gas won't ever be like it was before so any reduction in price will help on both items.

funny to see the idaho hops report, most of the acreage is owned by AB. What is the big secret.

Depending on how much of that harvest is already earmarked for the big brewers, it could be good news.

I'm still going to get pound bags next year. It's nice having a stockpile in that I don't have to worry if the LHBS has what I want for whatever I'm in the mood for.
