I recently got in on CBC's July box special and got 8oz each of leave amarillo and simcoe hops. So I thought I'd brew up two IPA recipes using the same grains and just changing the hops. This way I can really get a feel for the character of each hop.

My first all-grain IPA came out incredibly delicious, so I used that grain bill as a base. It's an English-style IPA - creamy, a little malty, not too bitter. I adjusted the first two hop additions in the simcoe recipe to try to keep the IBUs the same for both. Also I increased the batch size from 5g to 5.5g but left the grains the same - this dropped the OG target from 1.064 to 1.058, which I'm happy with.

Once I brew them up I'll post my impressions. Suggestions or input are welcome!
