I saw that micromatic sells lexan wine/cider shanks.

That got me to thinking about making my own on the lathe. Any reason not to (other than time)?

Would other materials such as delrin be suitable?

I don't own any shanks yet. Can someone give me the specs (thread pitch, shank diameter, hole diameter, etc)

Shanks are not really a high $ item but they can add up if you're buying a lot.
