I placed for the first time at a big competition, I got a third in the Scottish and Irish ale category, BJCP 9. The competition was the Happy Holiday Homebrew Competition held by St. Louis Brews. Below is the recipe I used, it is for 15 gallons. I made it with a friend so that is why it was such a big batch. I fermented at 65 degrees and used a yeast starter to build up to the correct cell count.

The next time I make it I am going to use Golden Promise. Other than that, I am looking for suggestions.

Thanks!

Just looking at it real quick Your ABV was 11.8. The BJCP calls for 6.5 to 10 I would just back off on the base malt a little. I think the Golden Promise would be good also.Sure would like to try it.
