Hi guys,
I'm doing my first AG batch tomorrow, but it's going to be a half batch, 2.5 gal. so that I can get the process down and have grains left over to make another batch later. I was wondering if it's okay to pitch the entire liquid yeast packet (Wyeast packet) into 2.5 gallons as opposed to 5? Is there a way to save half of the yeast packet to pitch into a future batch, say 3 weeks from now?

it depends on the OG of the beer. since this is a half batch it follows that you would use half the amount of yeast. go here to calculate how much yeast you need for the batch.
