Is there any harm in pitching your yeast into wort that is low in temperature (say 40 degrees Fahrenheit)? I added my wort to ice to cool it down quickly and I'm wondering if there's going to be a problem.

No problem. It's probably not going to ferment a whole lot until the temperature comes up a bit, though. Just don't heat it up quickly, as sudden changes in temp can hurt the yeast.
