Got some petri dishes from a friend of mine who works at a lab, said them medium in the dishes were specifically for yeast? Wondering if this is actually yeast? I went online to try and find pics of yeast cultures in petri dishes and couldn't find any exactly like this one. I have 5 dishes and they all look like the same strain.

Should I go ahead and make a small starter? :mug:

Not sure why the picture isn't showing....maybe one of the mods could help??

To describe it: It is white in color and is formed like branches of a fern

Have a bigger picture? Any time I've grown yeast it grows in smooth round colonies. However I am growing from a inoculation loop or a sterile swab. I have not let a culture grow to the point that giant growth morphology displays it's morphological characteristics.
