I am bottling some of my next batch in Miller Lite PET bottles. These bottles appear to be pretty thick and I was wondering if anyone has tried putting them in the dishwasher (not the caps of course, they look like they are thinner and should be cleaned and sanitized by hand).

I did try a few on a Normal dish wash cycle (with no soap) and they made it with no ill effects.

My dishwasher has a sanitize option, but I don't want to end up with melted plastic everywhere... I'm sure this cycle runs quite a bit hotter.
Has anyone tried this?

That worked well for me for a few batches.

I tried it again later and my wife had some rinse aid in there.......BAND AID ALE.

Never again.

Good point... I guess when you use a dishwasher there is always the risk of some soap/chemicals being left in there even if its not in the soap compartment.

I was just curious if these bottles will break down and melt on a sanitize cycle...
