Agreed, but you haven't lived till you've had to lie down on a 150 degree asphalt roof for an hour trying desperately not to burn the skin on your arms while you wire a solar array. Bring on the heat stroke.

No but I feel youir pain, I've had to lay down on roof tops to provide security for other sections moving in the streets. The roof tops in Baghdad get so hot that the tar they seal the roof with melt into your clothing and gear.

...I'm in and out of it all day. It has AC (most of the time), but it sucks having to get out. Drenched with sweat, the AC cools me off quickly, but I'm still sweaty when I need to get out and do it all over again.

At least I have the AC (when it works).

I'm somewhere around here. I spend some portion of everyday in a full chemical suit near a 1000F combustion chamber......... Then go to A/C... for a little while. Then stand in the sun in a steam bath for several hours .....Then go to A/C... for a little while.

That Said...

I feel an argument coming on. So I will paraphrase Dennis Leary... Life sucks get a helmet.

So to summerize (People who complain about the heat but work inside )
1.Subbordanants - Tell em go work in the sun & quit crying.
2.Peers - Tell them you have it better than them & smile.
3.Superiors - Sabotoge.

DID I MENTION MY NEW POT

No question, you win the prize, not that it's much of a prize....

LOL, not trying to one up anyone.

It does get annoying when I hear the non combat MOS (Military Occupational Speciality) soldiers complain about the heat over here. Sometimes I want to punch the finance clerk who sits in the A/C of the base's pay office all day, then complains about the heat.

Its so wonderful when they come out to me (who has been standing outside all day/night) and they complain about the weather. Had one lady make the comment "Well, so much for staying out of the rain" as the had to pass through the rain for half a second, when I, and my employees were drenched.

i hate the hot weather. do nothing, sweat. at least in the winter i can put on more layers. they make me wear clothes at work, even in the summer, pants too. swass is what pisses me off the most. I usually do at least 2-3 courtesy wipes before break. bring on winter. yeah i work outside.

Really? Then someone needs to invent out door air conditioning.

My fiancee did. I come home and she has all the windows open because it is cool outside and there is a breeze, ok fine. But then I look over at the calendar hanging above the AC vent and it is flapping away. I say "one or the other, not both!” She says the cool air from outside is helping to cool the house. I say NO! The AC is running because the outside is warmer that what it is set for and we are essentially trying to cool the entire outdoors. Why does she not understand this? She is not stupid; she has an electrical engineering degree. I think she hates to be wrong or caught doing something stupid so she tried to defend her actions.

I can complain because the heat index has been getting to 100+ and even though I work inside, I do share an office of about 1500 sq ft with 22 other individuals each with their own PC and multiple monitors...it gets effing hot in the office right ~1 pm.
