Pelican steam pots with strainer

Anyone bought one of these? Wondering if they are thick walled or not and if the space between the bottom of the steamer and the pot would be good enough for a heating element?

I know the differences between aluminum and ss so that is not a concern, though I'm still not sure which metal I want

I have a 15 gallon SS version with a basket and an element fits fine with the basket in it.
