I'm a novice homebrewer and I wanted to get some feedback on this IPA I'm "making up".
Firstly, I'm not very experienced with Spruce essence or grated Ginger root. When am I supposed to add them? how much for 5 gal? etc..

Here's the recipe, I made it up myself with the help of an experienced friend.

IPA 5 gal

3lbs extra light DME
2 lbs American pale 2-row malt
1.5 CaraMunich malt
1.5lbs rye malt

.5oz Cascade hops at start
.5oz Willammette hops 30 min before flame out
1oz chinook hops 15 mins before flame out
1oz Columbus hops after flame out
1oz Amarillo dry hopping

5oz spruce essence 5 mins before flame out
1oz fresh ginger root 15mins before flame out

Wyeast British Ale Yeast

Let me know! Thanks in advance! :mug:
