I have an Oxygenation Kit 2.0 regulator w/wand. I oxygenated my wort last night and now can't get the regulator off the oxygen tank. This happened one time before and somehow I got it off the next day with not too much effort. I let it sit over night and still can't get it off. Any ideas?

Pretty sure it's reverse threaded :) So, "tighten" is actually loosen.

Any need to remove it? I'd leave it attached until it's empty.
Last time, I wrote on the tank so I would remember it's the opposite of "normal" so yes, I tried going in the correct direction. The valve is turned off.

I have the same, a piece of tape to remind me it's reverse threaded.

If you're going the right direction then it just sounds like brute force is needed. Maybe empty it out first just in case it fails in some way other than loosening as expected. Best case it comes off, worst case you throw the regulator away and replace it along with a new tank.

You could try a tiny bit of anti-size on it next time?

Use a hammer on the end of your wrench. You dont even need to hit it very hard. Old mechanic's trick.

Wrench? Isn't that regulator a simple cylindrical affair that should be hand-tightened?

This is exactly what I have. I only hand-tightened the regulator. I tried the hot towel trick....didn't work for me. If it only had some good angles on it, I could get a grip using a wrench! I've emptied the Bernzomatic oxygen cylinder completely now. The cylinder has what appears to be a pressure release. Maybe if I press that in, it will let my regulator/wand go?

What about locking pliers? A small (if they make them that small) strap wrench? I think that after the hot face cloth would work.

EDIT: If the O2 tank is the red ones you buy, maybe clamp the regulator part into a vice, then grip the tank to unscrew it. I'd think the strap wrench would work here if you don't have the hand strength.
