Ahoy!
First time brewing and everything went well. brewed a Coopers IPA. Poured the wort and water into fermenting bucket and got it to around 80 degrees. Pitched the yeast, then realized i filled past the 5 gallon mark, about to that first inner lip. The bucket is 6.5 gallons and im approximately 4 inches or so from the top. Think ill get some blow over?

You might. However, your OG is probably way off now. Can you say session brew? When did you pitch the yeast and did you take a hydrometer reading?

This could be a learning brew for you. I missed the 80F pitching temp in the first post, that is a little high. You want the temp in the 70's low to mid is the best. The extra gallon or so of water is going to water it down some.

Post up the recipe so it can be run through a brew calculator and see what you might end up with.
