I recently had my first batch of very over-carbonated beer. The gushers got worse over a few months and after one bottle exploded in the case I decided to trash them. As I was opening the bottles to empty them, one shattered in my hand and I realized I could just slightly pry away the top at first to relieve pressure and avoid any more flying glass. Luckily no serious injuries.

Anyway, I'm wondering if the undamaged bottles are really undamaged or whether they might have been stressed by the pressure over time. Is it safe to reuse them or should I toss them?

i have to ask , how do you guys determine your amount of priming sugar that you get overcarbonated beer. Ive had some that were slightly heady but never had a bottle bomb nor a gusher.
