Oster 5.0 Review

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking into building a kegerator and have seen that the Oster 5.0 seems to be the fridge of choice for many homebrewers. I looked at the Best Buy website, however, and it doesn't seem to be getting great reviews.

I'm wondering if those of you who have this fridge could let me know your thoughts regarding it. Or if you have suggestions about other fridges, let me know.

Mine died after about 3 months. Won't hold temperature colder than 50F. I'm working on building a keezer right now. A very disappointing fridge, in my experience. We did buy a second at the same time as the first for just keeping bottled beer in, and that one seems to be holding up fine, so it appears to be a bit of luck of hte draw.

You can mod all those fridges by installing a small fan inside and/or tweak the built in thermostat a little bit. Overall not an issue IMO. Had to do the same for mine
