The recipes calls for 0.25 oz. of Columbus for 60 min. But they sent me a whole ounce of em. Because I have a Black IPA in secondary that I plan on dry hopping tomorrow, could I use the extra columbus to dry hop?

Im a big fan of hoppy IPA's and most black IPA's vie had aren't hoppy enough for my taste.

The question is, Is columbus a good dry hopping hop? If so, should I start with one for a few days then another, or do them together, at once?

Im new to this so im still learning about hop varieties and so on.

Thanks

P.S. The columbus have a alpha of 14.4%

I have never subscribed to using different dry hops in series. You can add the Columbus to the other dry hops you were planning on using (i.e. at once, together), and it'll turn out well, or you can freeze them and use them for bittering/flavoring a future batch. It's totally up to what you prefer.
