Opinions: Extech TM20 Waterproof Temperature Indicator

Hi everyone. Has anyone ever used this before? I was thinking of sticking the probe into the fermenter to measure the fermentation temperature but I'm not sure if it's food safe. Price is pretty good if it is safe to use in the wort.

Why do you want to know the temp in the wort? Why not just tape a probe to the side of the carboy and insulate it from the air around?

I use a thermo well from brewers hardware for the probe on my thermostat.

Good idea on the insulating wrap. I was just curious what the wort temp vs ambient air temp was. I have a digital thermometer on the chamber already but I wanted to check it's accuracy against the actual wort temp.
