So I made a yeast starter Feb 7th (22 days ago) and never got around to brewing the batch. I amd thinking that I won't be getting to it for quite a while. How long can a yeast starter sit before things start going wrong? Can a starter sit forever?

I'm thinking about just pouring off the majority of the liquid and pouring the yeast slurry into a sanitized bottle, caping it and stick it in the fridge until I'm ready to go. Of course I would make another starter with it to wake the guys up. That a good idea?

that will work but you should prob poor the slurry into a new jar and top off with prreboiled chilled water so it doesnt ddry out. and into the fridge it shall go

Do I need water or can I just leave a little of the fermented starter beer with it.
