Old Hops

I just aquired a bunch of hops that have been stored in a freezer since around 2003. Do you think these are still good for brewing. If not, any other uses?? Here's what I got:

Bullion 1oz 8.9%aa
Spalt 1oz 3.0%aa
Tettnang 1/2oz 4.7%aa
Liberty 2oz 3.3%aa
Chinnok 1oz 11.2%aa
Centennial 2oz 9.9%aa
Kent Goldings 2.5oz 6.0%aa
Cascade 4oz 6.0%aa
Keystone 2oz 14.2%aa
Pride of Ringwood 2.5oz 6.9%aa
Hallertau 1oz 4.9%aa
Chech Saaz 1.5oz 3.1%aa
Horizon 2oz 12.5%aa

Seriously, if they smell fine, then they are fine. However, the AA punch has faded significantly over all that time. They are probably best as aroma hops or, perhaps, for a little experimenting to see what bittering power they have left.

As long as they were sealed away from 02 they should be quite fine. Though I don't think you risk it so send them to me and I'll use them as cat repellents.

Actually, I brewed a batch today with some Horizon dated 2005. They have been vac sealed in a mason jar for most of the time, though, the last month, they were not vac sealed.

Smelled heavenly when I opened the jar today. I think the worst case is they won't have the AA they did at first, but even then, they were home-grown, so the AA was estimated.

Brew with 'em.
