I had a batch of Pumpkin Spice Porter that didn't turn out quite right, I drank most of it but needed bottles for a stout I was finishing tonight, so I decided to just pour out the last few bottles of the porter.
I knew the beer was kind of over carbonated for the style, but didn't think any further about that and the prospect of opening warm beer bottles in this state.
A pretty nice finger cut and fractured bottle later (thankfully over the sink) I was mopping up blood from everywhere and administering my laceration when my wife volunteered to open the rest, but with gloves....
For some unknown reason, she thought it would be better to turn the bottle upside down in the sink while opening...
Beer on the ceiling doesn't come out that easily it turns out, especially a porter. The walls and everything else came clean but my ceiling is worse for wear for sure.
Fortunately she opened that one cause if I had sprayed beer all over the kitchen I'd never hear the end of it... She even admitted that and agrees it makes a funny story (she didn't get cut) [emoji3]
So beware warm, over carbonated bottles... Which I'm pretty sure has been mentioned here somewhere before but I obviously missed it.
