I just brewed my first batch. It's a BB Irish Red that's been in the bottle for a week. Everything went great so far, but when I tasted the first bottle last night it had a soapy/cleanser after taste. I used star san, but that shouldn't leave an off flavor. I looked at How To Brew and John Palmer attributes the soapy taste to sitting in the primary too long. Mine was in it for three weeks. Do you thing the taste will go away?

Thanks for the list. I'll have to refer to in when I open my next bottle to see if I can identify the exact flavor.

I tasted another bottle last night and the off flavor is going away. I'm guessing it was just really green.

Something went awry in primary during initial fermentation to cause the off flavor. Sounds like it was minor enough to age out in the bottles.
